Recent Investment December 2018, Part III

<< Read More: Recent Investments December 2018

Hi everyone and Merry Christmas, the market is currently going down heavily on a daily basis, so just before Christmas I did another investment. I just could not resist adding more MO shares, looking at that price level the company just seems to be really undervalued, like a lot of other stocks.

Altria Group

MO is already a big holding in my portfolio and I just did a purchase a couple of weeks ago, as the second dividend increase of this year was announced, now that share price dipped even further so I again took the opportunity to make another investment of additional 23 shares. MO is currently priced at 47.54 USD and offers an outstanding dividend yield of 6.73%. This just simply means the share is -34.80% down from its 52 week high.

With this additional investment, MO is currently my biggest holding with a total investment of almost 4 000 EUR and it is also the company with the biggest part of my annual dividend income, currently, it is at 161.98 EUR. For diversification reasons, I will not add any further shares to that position in the near future.

After all, this investment will add 73.60 USD before taxes to my annual dividend income.

Conclusion

Through this new addition, my full-year dividend income is now at 2 073.02 EUR or 2 375.27 USD, with a current yield of costs of 3.44%. So I finally managed it to cross my goal of 2 000 EUR annual dividend income. This is another milestone on my dividend income journey to 10 000 EUR. which I want to reach until I am 40 years old. So the next stop is 2 500 EUR :)…

My goal is from now on to increase my dividend income every year by at least 750 EUR. At the moment 150 EUR should come from dividend increases and around 600 from additional investment, based on a yield of 3.5 %, this would mean that I have to invest around 17 000 EUR in the next year.

The current average dividend income per month is now at 172.75 EUR, which is a nice monthly addition considering the fact that I do not have to work for that :).

Let’s see if I will do any further investments in the next weeks, I mean we are getting new opportunities on a daily basis. For example, PRU looks more and more promising, same for XOM and also PSX is now way cheaper than it was at the time I was buying some shares. I think the best what we can do is just take advantage of this outstanding buying opportunities and keep constantly investing. It might be possible that the upcoming months are getting even worse, which is on the other side an amazing opportunity to boost our dividend income significantly. Only in December, I managed to increase my projected yearly dividend income by more than 200 EUR, on the other side my portfolio lost quite some value :)…
