The highest scoring names in mid cap from 1 year ago returned 556 bps more than the S&P 400. The best performers have been TRN up 107%, UA up 78%, ACT up 69%, and OTEX up 60%.

The average mid cap score is 55.53, below the four week moving average score of 58.75. The average mid cap stock is trading -14.72% below its 52 week moving average, 0.88% above its 200 dma, has 7.77 days to cover held short, and is expected to post EPS growth of 19.10% next year.

The top scoring mid cap sector is technology. Healthcare also scores above average. Financials, services, and industrial goods score in line. Consumer goods, basic materials, and utilities score below average.

Semi ICs (IRF, FCS) are top scoring thanks to increased demand in industrial applications and next generation consumer electronics. Information & delivery services (DNB, FDS) stocks offer opportunity thanks to rising demand into budget season. Trucking (HTLD, ODFL) volume remains bullish for rates. Back-to-school and holiday shopping demand support textiles (DECK, SKX, CRI) companies into 2015. Rising bank loan activity is driving results at regional banks (OZRK, NPBC, CATY, FHN, ASBC) and is more than off-setting tight spreads.

The highest scoring services industries include trucking, business services (HMSY, HPY), and movies (LGF). In technology, buy semi ICs, information & delivery services, and technical & system software (CDNS).
