The average mid cap score is 56.47 and that's below the four week average score of 56.90. Across our mid cap universe, the average stock is trading -21.99% below its 52 week high, 3.8% above its 200 dma, has 6.43 days to cover held short, and is expected to grow its EPS by 16.16% in the next year.

The best scoring mid cap sectors are industrial goods, basic materials, utilities, and healthcare. Technology and consumer goods score in line. Services and financials score below average.

Oil & gas equipment & services (PDS, RES, HLX) is the best mid cap industry. Specialty chemicals (NEU), healthcare plans (WCG, MOH), industrial electrical (RBC, AOS), and movies (RGC, DWA) also score high. 

Oil & gas equipment & services, specialty chemicals, and independent oil & gas (NFX) score above average in basics. Packaging & containers (TUP, BMS) and textiles (COLM, CRI) are strongest in consumer goods. The best financials groups are accident & health insurance (AIZ) and REITs (LXP, CLI). Healthcare plans, medical instruments (HRC, TFX, NUVA, WST), and medical appliances (ALGN, GMED, MASI) are best in healthcare. Industrial electrical, diversified machinery (ITT, ATU, BGG), and residential construction (KBH) can be bought in industrials. Movies, trucking (ODFL, KNX) , and business services (HPY, RBA, GPN) score above average in services. The top technology industries are technical & system software (CDNS, MENT), scientific & technical instruments (CGNX, FLIR), and broadline semi. Gas utilities (NJR, EGN) can also be owned.
