What's New At TalkMarkets: New Partnerships & New Features

NEW SITE FEATURES

Social Activity Feed:

You may have noticed that we’ve quietly rolled out a new Activity Feed. It is featured on our homepage, users’ dashboards, and the social tab in our site header.

This activity feed features site activity such as new registrations, personal blog posts, comments and more. It’s also a great way to get more exposure for yourself; it’s like Twitter and Facebook rolled into one.You can post status updates; share videos, images and charts; utilize social tagging such as hashtags (e.g. #Brexit), cashtags (e.g. $AMZN) and tagging other users (@Boaz Berkowitz) -a great way to bring a friend’s attention to a particular post. Users will soon be able to search status updates and comments for the hashtags and cashtags using our new and improved search box.

You can even have your status updates automatically post to other social sites, such as Twitter and StockTwits, at the same time - a great way to maximize your exposure with no extra effort. We’ll be adding even more functionality in the near future so we’d love your feedback and suggestions.

New Mobile Site:
We’re happy to say that Stage 1 of our new mobile site has gone live this past Friday. Now you can enjoy a streamlined TalkMarkets, optimized for your mobile devices. We’ll continue to enhance this experience over the next several months.

New Submission System:
We overhauled and streamlined our content submission and publication system. It has a cleaner and tighter look, is more efficient, and has led to a marked increase in publication speed. Anyone can have their own personal blog here on TalkMarkets, but if you are interested in becoming an official contributor, you can learn more about our unique contributor program here.

Portfolio Enhancements:
While viewing your portfolio, you can now see authors to follow who cover those stocks, as well as content related to those stocks right on the same page. You can also now do a mass import of your followed stocks from your portfolios on other sites.Just paste them in the new import field on "manage portfolio" page.

By default, stocks in your portfolio are listed alphabetically, but now you can rearrange them to be in any order you want:

Whichever stocks you drag to the top of the list will also be “sticky” and will be the ones that are displayed on your customized dashboard, which you see when you first login.

You can also differentiate between the stocks that you are interested in and those you actually own. You can also set the privacy settings for whom you share this information with (public, private, followers and/or contacts, and eventually an option to make this information only available to your paying subscribers). And soon, you’ll be able to buy and sell these stocks without having to leave TalkMarkets!

NEW PARTNERSHIPS

Our long awaited partnership with Reuters has finally gone live and we've also closed numerous business development deals this past quarter with:

  • Seeking Alpha, the leading site for sophisticated investors
  • Investopedia, the world's largest financial education site
  • Scout Finance, a breakout new financial app
  • Accern, a real-time content surveillance platform for investors

These partnerships are already live and these sites are now hosting our headlines (with the exception of Accern which is scheduled for next month).

We're also developing a co-branded product with Investing.com, one of the world's largest finance sites (launch date TBA). Additionally we've partnered with Shindig Events to host a regular webinar series featuring TalkMarkets contributors. You can see a recording of one of these virtual events here. If you are a contributor interested in hosting a similar webinar let us know.

Nasdaq is also a new partner and contributor and you may have seen them announce our partnership in Times Square. If not, here's a photo:

TALKMARKETS ON SHARK TANK?

Not quite, but TalkMarkets has been invited to be a Featured company at the Impact Capital Conference 2016 in Philadelphia. TM will be one of a select group of early stage companies that will pitch live to hundreds of investors, angel networks, VC's and the media. Three companies will go onto to the Lion's Den, a Shark Tank like experience. If selected, we will go before a select panel of Venture Capitalists ("The Lions"), for a chance at substantial funding. Wish us luck!
