Tata Motors Surges By 10%; BSE Auto Index Up 0.2%
Among the top Gainers in the BSE Auto Index today is Tata Motors (TTM) (up 10.4%).
MARUTI SUZUKI (down 2.1%) and EXIDE INDUSTRIES (down 3.4%) are among the top losers today.
Over the last one year, Tata Motors has moved up from Rs 180 to Rs 183, registering a gain of Rs 3 (up 1.5%).
On the other hand, the BSE AUTO has moved down from 18,882 to 18,441, a loss of 441 points (down 3.5%) during the last 12 months.
The top gainers among the BSE AUTO Index stocks during this same period were BALKRISHNA INDUSTRIES (up 36.5%), MRF LTD. (up 20.5%) and BAJAJ AUTO (up 19.6%).
What About the Benchmark Indices?
The BSE Sensex is at 41,155 (up 0.9%).
The top gainers among the BSE Sensex stocks today are TATA STEEL (up 4.7%), BHARTI AIRTEL (up 2.3%) and TCS (up 2.1%). Other gainers include HDFC (up 1.9%) and RELIANCE IND. (up 1.6%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are ICICI BANK and BAJAJ FINANCE.
In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 12,098 (up 0.9%). Tata Motors (up 10.9%) is among the top gainers in NSE Nifty.
Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 36,583 to 41,155, registering a gain of 4,572 points (up 12.5%).
TATA MOTORS Financial Update...
Tata Motors net profit declined 107.3% YoY to Rs 20 billion for the quarter ended December 2019, compared to a loss of Rs 268 billion a year ago. Net Sales declined 6.9% to Rs 716.8 billion during the period as against Rs 770.0 billion in October-December 2018.
For the year ended March 2019, Tata Motors reported an 85.2% decrease in net profit to Rs 7.2 billion compared to net profit of Rs 48.4 billion during FY18.
Revenue of the company grew 3.3% to Rs 3,019 billion during FY19.
The current Price to earnings ratio of Tata Motors, based on rolling 12-month earnings, stands at down 351.1x.
