Buoyant global markets are closing the week and one good performer, Vir Biotech (VIR), today gained an impressive 6.09%. Compugen (CGEN) rose 6.65%. Nio topped that with a rise of 7.78%. And Mexichem (MXCHF) beat the lot with a jump of 14.15%.
Drugs
*Merck MRK had good news about its cancer drug Keytruda which gave those in trials an average 53.6 months of life versus only 42 months for those getting the placebo.
*However Pfizer and Moderna MRNA lost traction after a lawsuit was brought by Alnylam (ALNY) that they had violated its patent. PFE lost 0.5%.
*Novacure of Jersey and Israel gained 3%. NVCR.
*Swiss Roche rose 1.44%. RHHBY.
*Theravance (TBPH) gained 3.9%.
*Zymeworks (ZYME)jumped 3.37%.
*Eli Lilly (LLY) rose 0.5%.
Oilpatch
*Another boost to shares came from upbeat views of Chinese auto-plays. Carmaker NIO rose.
*Tencent registered oil prices up 8% after the Russian shortage. TCEHY.
*Brazilian Petrobras gained 1.38%. PBR.
*Algonquin rose .53%. AQN.
*Plug Power gained 2.15%. PLUG.
Tech
*Nokia was tipped and rose. NOK.
*Dutch PROSY rose 2.34%.
*Mercado Libre (MELI) gained 1.75%.
Finance
*Insurer AIG (AAIGF) gained 4.09%
*BAESY gained 1.06%.
