The Top Stocks On The Dow Jones
The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJI) is one of the most renowned stock market indices in the world. It is also one of the oldest. Dating back to 1885, the DJIA is the second oldest stock market index. There are 30 stocks in the DIJA and they represent most of the major sectors with the exception of transportation and utilities. Most of the names on the list are household names and are some of the most respected companies in their sector. It is chalked full of some of the best blue chip stocks in the U.S. In times of volatility, many on the list are defensive investments. In such cases, they tend to outperform when times are tough.
Using our screener we developed to spot high potential growth stocks in Canada, we decided to showcase it here in identifying the best stocks on the Dow Jones. United Health takes top spot on our list, followed closely by Boeing and Walgreens Boots Alliance. Both Untied Health and Boeing offer above average earnings growth, while Walgreens offers a nice combination of value and growth.
Bringing up the rear we have International Business Machines, Coca-Cola, McDonald's Corporation and Proctor & Gamble. All three ratings where impacted by higher valuations and low (negative in some cases) growth rates.
