The 5 Largest Canadian Cannabis Stocks Dropped 24.5% This Week

Canadian cannabis companies plan to enter the U.S. market whenever legislation legalizes the sale of nationally and cannabis companies there and enables them to work seamlessly within the U.S. financial system. The news this week that American cannabis companies are going to be left out of the National Defense Authorization Act, whose inclusion was seen as a promising vehicle to get the SAFE Banking Act passed, has adversely affected the performance of Canadian cannabis companies as well as the American cannabis multi state operators.

Below are the performances of the constituents in the munKNEE Canadian Cannabis LPs Index, which consists of the 5 largest vertically integrated (i.e. seed-to-sale) licensed producers by market capitalization, this week, in descending order. Also presented are links to my summary articles on their latest quarter financial results and a link to last week's article which highlighted the financial health of each constituent.

  1. Cronos (CRON): DOWN 17.6% this week
  2. Aurora (ACB): DOWN 19.3% this week
  3. OrganiGram (OGI): DOWN 21.8% this week
  4. Tilray (TLRY): DOWN 24.0% this week
  5. Canopy Growth (CGC): DOWN 33.1% this week

In total, the munKNEE Canadian Cannabis LPs Index has gone DOWN 24.5% this week compared to the munKNEE American Cannabis MSO Stocks Index which went DOWN 35.3%.
