Stock Charts To Watch - Thursday, July 9

Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (AMD) is certainly one of my old favorites and a swing from a year ago and a couple times since. After the inverse head and shoulders formed around March, and it ran up, it could not get through multiple tops around the 58-9 zone. On Thursday it popped from 53.31 to the session high at 57.26 and closed up 3.83, or 7%, to 57.26, on hefty 87.2 million shares traded, the biggest volume on an up-day going back to April. That’s a very good sign that it might want to make a move and break out. For now, I’m looking for AMD to make it through 59, run into the mid-60’s, and eventually the mid-70’s.

Landcadia Holdings II, Inc. (LCA) exploded on a breakaway back in June, pulled back pretty hard for a week and a half, reversed on Wednesday, had a beautiful follow-through on Thursday by exploding 1.75, or 14%, to 14.05, with a session high of 14.52, on 12.2 million shares traded and another 40 cents in after-hours. It looks like this one is going to test 15 1/2, and possibly the 17 range as well.

Moderna, Inc. (MRNA) popped on Thursday, going from 58.88 to the session high at 65.35, closing up 3.39, or 5.5%, to 64.97, on 21 million shares traded. I really like the look of this stock, too. Any move above 66, could get you 73, or much more.

OneConnect Financial Technology Co., Ltd. (OCFT) exploded on Thursday for 3.96, or 20%, to 23.96, closing not far of the session high at 24.06, on 1.1 million shares traded. The volume was strong for this stock. You can see the pop-wedge, pop-wedge, and the fifth leg is on the way, in my opinion, which could lead it to 26-7, or thereabouts.

Spartan Energy Acquisition Corp. (SPAQ) went ballistic on Thursday, and exploded from 10.65 to over 15, and closed up 4.18, or 38.7%, to 14.99, not far off new all-time and session high at 15.05, on 37.3 million shares traded. In after-hours it was up another 2.44 to 17.45. This might be one of those stocks that continues to run into the low-to-mid 20’s.

On the long side, stocks included Altimmune, Inc. (ALT), Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (AMD), AxoGen, Inc. (AXGN), BiondVax Pharmaceuticals Ltd. (BVXV), Graf Industrial Corp.
