Legendary investor and real estate mogul Sam Zell passed away yesterday. He was a plain-spoken voice of reason and experience, unafraid to speak truth to a market often unwilling to hear it.

A lifelong real estate investor, Zell had been selling off many of his properties over the past years as he couldn't justify the high prices the markets were willing to pay.
