Restaurant Wipeouts

Remember when shorting Chipotle (CMG) was as stupid as shorting Nvidia (NVDA) today? I sure do. Boy, have times changed. Chipotle is finally getting the treatment it deserves, since the purveyor of overpriced, mediocre burritos never deserved its lofty valuation. It is worth a small fraction of its former peak.
 


They’re not alone, though. Check out another couple of Slope short ideas from the past, such as Cava Group (CAVA) (whose paper bag was famously used to bribe Houman with $50,000 in cash, although there were no consequences – – obviously!) and Jack in the Box (JACK) (whose perfect H&S pattern highlighted here presaged a disaster).
