Recent Investment December 2018, Part II

<< Read More: Recent Investments December 2018

Hello guys, as already mentioned in my last article I did another investment this month. This time I bought an American stock from the oil sector, actually my first investment in that sector. Through this investment, I finally managed to cross the 2 000 EUR mark in my projected full-year dividend income.

Phillips 66

Phillips 66 (PSX) is a holding company created through the repositioning of ConocoPhillips. PSX has three segments: Refining and Marketing, Midstream, and Chemicals. The company focuses on producing natural gas liquids (NGL) and petrochemicals. PSX was founded in 1917 and is based in Houston, TX.

PSX has been on my watch list for quite a while and I am very happy that I finally pulled the investment trigger. In the end, I bought 22 shares. At the moment PSX pays a yearly dividend of 3.20 USD, which makes a current yield of 3.69%. The last dividend increase was at 14.3% and the dividend was increased in the last 6 years. Looking at the current payout ratio of around 41% gives also a lot of room for potential growth.

After all, this investment will add 70.40 USD before taxes to my annual dividend income.

Conclusion

Through this new addition, my full year dividend income is now at 2 029.35 EUR or 2 300.25 USD, with a current yield of costs of 3.43%. So I finally managed it to cross my goal of 2 000 EUR annual dividend income. This is another milestone on my dividend income journey to 10 000 EUR. which I want to reach until I am 40 years old. So the next stop is 2 500 EUR :)…

My goal is from now on to increase my dividend income every year by at least 750 EUR. At the moment 150 EUR should come from dividend increases and around 600 from additional investment, based on a yield of 3.5 %, this would mean that I have to invest around 17 000 EUR in the next year.

The current average dividend income per month is now at 169.11 EUR, which is a nice monthly addition considering the fact that I do not have to work for that :).

For the remaining year, I am still having an eye on one more investment. Currently, I am having an eye on, Prudential Financial and XOM. But also the Austrian market looks attractive at the moment Voestalpine and Österreichische Post currently offer nice yields. Anyway, let’s see which one it will be :-)…
