Overvaluation

I believe one of the most dangerous behaviors is the willingness to invest in highly overvalued stocks. Massive overvaluation is vulnerable to even the hint of bad news. Almost any negative catalyst can cause havoc to the stock price. Years of gain and profit can be wiped out very quickly. Most importantly, investing is, at its core, always difficult. To be a successful investor you must be able to forecast the future as accurately as possible. This can never be done with perfect precision, but it must be done within a reasonable range of probabilities. Mistakes can and will happen. However, value investors can apply the most rudimentary valuation principles and they become empowered to avoid this obvious mistake.
