Nvidia Corp (NVDA) just announced the “world’s most powerful chip” for AI. Its shares are still trading down in extended hours.

Nvidia GB200 versus the current gen H100 chip

The semiconductor behemoth revealed “Blackwell” – a new generation of artificial intelligence chips today at its developer’s conference in San Jose, California.

GB200 or the first of that new series of GPUs will start shipping before the end of this year and lowers cost and energy consumption versus the current generation H100 by up to 25x, as per Jensen Huang – the chief executive of Nvidia Corp.

Hopper [H100] is fantastic, but we need bigger GPUs.

The news arrives less than a month after $NVDA said its revenue more than tripled in the fiscal fourth quarter as Invezz reported here.

NVDA expands its partnership with Microsoft

Nvidia also “NIM” on Monday – a revenue-generating software aimed at making it easier for customers to deploy artificial intelligence.

The goal, as per executives of the Nasdaq-listed firm, is to turn $NVDA into a platform company like Apple Inc or Microsoft Corp.

In fact, the latter even announced major integrations today that leverage its latest chips across Azure, Microsoft Fabric, Azure AI Services, and Microsoft 365. According to Satya Nadella – the chief executive of $MSFT:

Announcements we’re making today will ensure customers have comprehensive platforms and tools across every layer of Copilot stack, from silicon to software, to build their own breakthrough AI capability.
