It may come as a surprise to many, as the Arm deal is not new, but the Chinese antitrust lawyers require a period of about eighteen months of scrutiny before approval. China is a huge market for Arm, and by entering the Chinese market, the conglomerate puts in practice its expansion plans.

NVIDIA struck a deal with SoftBank Group last September for the Arm acquisition and now it expects to have it completed by March 2022. As such, it applied for the Chinese antitrust regulator's approval in the hope that it will get the green light just in time. The US Federal Trade Commission also opened a probe into the company’s agreement to buy Arm.

NVIDIA Trading at Record Highs

The company had one of the strongest stock market performances in the last decade. Listed on Nasdaq under the ticker NVDA, the company is up 3,802% in the last ten years, currently trading at record highs.

NVIDIA operates in two segments – Compute & Networking and Graphic and it manufactures and sells products in the professional visualization, gaming, automotive, and datacenter markets. A leader in the semiconductors industry, it stands to benefit the most from the recent supply bottlenecks in the industry that led to increased prices, with a big impact on the bottom line.
