Barry Sloane, the co-founder, and CEO of NewtecOne (Nasdaq: NEWT) joined MagnetInvesting insights.

The Magnet® Stock Selection Process looks for companies with high revenue growth, along with higher profit margins than their competitors. Years ago, I met Barry when his company was presenting at a conference along with dozens of other companies. NEWT had the highest Magnet rank of any company attending, and I made sure to meet the management. While it is hard to measure management, what is easy is to measure their commitment to their company. As of today, Barry remains NEWT’s largest individual shareholder- that says a lot.

Last year the Board at NEWT decided to convert from a BDC to a bank holding company. Barry explains how the ability to retain and reinvest the company's earnings to grow the firm will be even more beneficial for investors. The firm's higher profit margins also allow NEWT to have among the highest-yielding corporate business accounts and offer the public the highest-yielding CDs in the land.

Banks have been out of favor for years. While others are chasing momentum, for patient investors, identifying the companies with the highest profit margins in out-of-favor sectors can be rewarding.

Currently, whether it is the current dividend yield of over 6% in the stock, becoming a client of the bank, or just investing in the highest-yielding CDs in the country- watch this short interview and see what you think.
