New Report: Ituran Location And Control

Ituran Location and Control Ltd, known by the ticker symbol ITRN, is a small-cap communication equipment firm, operating in the technology business sector. This is my first report on ITRN for this Viital portfolio or any of my previous six portfolios. I previously explored the company for TalkMarkets in June 2021.

Ituran Location and Control Ltd is a provider of location-based services. The company operates in two segments: Telematics services and Telematics products.

The Telematics services segment consists of regionally- based stolen vehicle recovery (SVR) services, fleet management services, and value-added services comprised of personal advanced locator services and concierge services.

The Telematics product segment consists of short and medium range two-way machine-to-machine wireless communications products that are used for numerous applications, including automatic vehicle location, automatic vehicle identification, and delivery tracking.

As of December 31, 2020, it served approximately 17,680,000 end-users in Israel, Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, Ecuador, Colombia, and the United States. The company was incorporated in 1994 and is headquartered in Azor, Israel.

Three key data points gauge any dividend equity:

(1) Price

(2) Dividends

(3) Returns

Those three basic keys best tell whether any company has made, is making, and will make money.

ITRN Price

Ituran's price per share was $23.72 as of Friday's market close. One year ago its price was $22.51. Therefore, Ituran's share price rose $1.21, or 5.38%, in the past year.

If ITRN's stock trades in the range of $20.00 to $28.00 this next year, its recent $23.72 share price might rise by $2.78 to reach $26.50 by April 4, 2023. My $2.78 estimate corresponds the median of target price estimates from two analysts covering ITRN for brokerage firms.

ITRN Dividends

Ituran Location and Control's most recent quarterly dividend of $0.14 is payable April 6th to shareholders on record as of March 22nd.  Assuming the same Q rate holds true in the coming months, the resulting annual dividend payout per share of $0.56 yields 2.36% at Friday's $23.72 closing price.

Ituran has paid variable quarterly payouts since April 4, 2012. That stretch marks 10 years in this month.

ITRN Returns

Adding the $0.56 Ituran annual dividend to the estimated one-year price upside of $2.78 shows a $3.34 potential gross gain, per share, to be reduced by any costs to trade ITRN shares.

At yesterday's $23.72 price per share, a little over $1000 would buy 42 shares. A $10 broker fee (if charged) would be paid half at purchase and half at sale and might cost us about $0.24 per share.

Subtract that maybe $0.24 brokerage cost from my estimated $3.34 gross gain estimate per share results in a net gain of $3.10 X 42 shares = $130.20 for a 13.2% net gain on a $996.24 investment.

So it is that Ituran Location and Control Ltd (ITRN): shows a possible 13.2% net gain including a 2.36% forward looking dividend yield.

Over the next year at this time our $1000 investment in Ituran Location and Control Ltd could generate $23.60 in cash dividends alone. Note that a single share of ITRN stock bought at yesterday's price of $23.72 is about $0.12 over the anticipated dividend income from our $1000.00 invested. So, by my dogcatcher ideal, now maybe not the time to buy Ituran Location and Control Ltd shares. The estimated next-year dividend from $1K invested is $0.12 below yesterday's single share price. Consider yourself alerted. It's a sign to wait for an ITRN price pullback to $23.66. Then buy!

All of the estimates above are speculation based on the past history of Ituran Location and Control Ltd (ITRN). Only time and money invested in this stock will determine its market value.
