Market Briefing For Monday, Dec. 22

Extraordinary for an Expiration Friday; but we'll take it. Last Expiration this year as well as new so-called Santa Claus embellishment; leaving something other-than 'lumps of coal' in the so-called holiday stockings. I'm glad that the crowd missing Quantum computing and entry levels for 'drones' and 'analytic' plays .. keeps proclaiming the 'end of a year of miracle investing'. Hah!
Sure, I hope they actually get opportunity for an old-school 'year of practical investing' . . as to me it means they still do not appreciate a 'global defense' focus that remains key to the new (miracle drone and security?) year, outside of hoping other tickers just hold together, so as not to rock the boat too much; hence enabling 'new-era' ticker out-performance.
Very glad we 'stuck to our guns' in the face of agitated market conditions, and jittery traders ... market instability was obvious for weeks, thus understandable; but nevertheless we prevailed with our game-plan, dismissed efforts to shake us out of positions; so here we are. You're probably feeling similarly. I wanted to see the 'old-guard' mega-cap leadership just hold together, and thankfully with the TikTok deal and new 'Safe Cities' law they managed to do so. Thus action of the old facilitated 'broadening-out'; give breathing space for the new.

Market X-ray: this was 'history's largest massive volume Expiration Day'. It's very hard to say if this frees markets to move away from gravitating toward 'round number' strikes with highest 'open interest', but perhaps. Time will tell.
In any event what a great Friday; good for holiday spirits, and rewards having a consistent conviction through what for sure was quite a rough patch. There was less intraday volatility than we are used to seeing on a Friday; especially Expiration. The implication is of a market that wants to go higher. Period.
