Daily Stock Pick: Neenah

A portfolio of stocks I've been building since September 3, 2019, named Volio, will eventually hold 52 dividend dogs. Volio is the fifth portfolio I've built (at a one dividend dog per-week pace) since 2014. Five portfolios = V for Volio!

Today I'm reviewing the fifth of five materials sector stocks striving to join my Volio folio this week. This could be my thirty-fourth pick for Volio!

That basic materials sector includes fourteen industries all related to mining, making, and delivering essential commodities, which are: agricultural inputs; aluminum; building materials; chemicals; coaking coal; copper; gold; other industrial metals and mining; other precious minerals and mining; paper & paper products; silver; steel; specialty chemicals.

My subject today is paper and paper products company My subject today is a paper and paper products company named, Neenah Inc. Its trading ticker symbol is NP. This is my first ever report on Neenah Inc.

Neenah Inc produces and sells a variety of paper and performance-based technical products.

The company reportable segments include Technical Products which sells filtration products used to filter air, fuel, water, and oil in automobiles. It's Fine Paper and Packaging, sells paper for writing, specialty paper, and envelopes used in corporate-branded paper materials, labels, and packaging, and Other segment composed of papers sold to converters for end uses such as covering materials for datebooks, diaries, yearbooks, and traditional photo albums.

The company generates maximum revenue from Technical product segment. Geographically, it operates in the United States, and Europe.

The company was formerly known as Neenah Paper, Inc. and changed its name to Neenah, Inc. in January 2018.

Neenah, Inc. was founded in 2004 and is headquartered in Alpharetta, Georgia.

I use three key data points to gauge dividend equities or funds like Neenah Inc (NP):

(1) Price

(2) Dividends

(3) Returns

Besides those three, several other keys will finally unlock an equity or fund in which to invest, or not.

Those three basic keys, however, best tell whether a company has made, is making, and will make money.

NP Price

Neenah's price per share closed at $43.24 yesterday. A year ago their price was $65.61. Market price dropped $22.37 or just over 34%.

Assuming NP's stock trades in the range of $30 to $60 this next year, its recent $43.24 price might rise by $6.76 to reach $50.00  by April 24, 2021.

NP Dividends

Neenah's  most recent declared quarterly dividend was $0.47 paid March 3rd. That $0.47 Q dividend equates to $1.88 annually and yields 4.35%.

NP Gains?

Adding the $1.88 annual estimated dividend to my $6.76 optimistic estimate of NP's price upside shows an $8.64 potential gross gain, per share, reduced by any costs to trade those shares.

A little under $1,000.00 today put into Neenah Inc shares at their $43.24 price, buys 23 shares of NP.

A $10 broker fee paid half at purchase and half at sale could cost about $0.43 per share.

Subtract that $0.43  brokerage cost from my estimated $8.64 gross gain per share results in a net gain of $8.21 X 23 shares = $188.83 or an 18.9% net gain on a $994.52 investment.

Therefore, Neenah Inc, whose trading ticker symbol is NP shows a possible 18.9% net gain including a 4.35% dividend yield. It could be more, it could be less.

The above speculation is based on past performance and supposition. Only time and money invested will tell if Neenah Inc is worth the expenditure.
