Today we look at a small-cap Pennsylvania Regional Bank company named S&T Bancorp Inc. Its trading ticker symbol is STBA. This is my first report on S&T Bancorp Inc for this portfolio.

S&T Bancorp Inc provides banking products and services. The company's business reportable segment is Community Banking. Its products and services include commercial banking, cash management, trust and brokerage, and insurance. The bank generates its revenue in the form of interest income.

As of December 31, 2019, it operated 76 banking branches and 5 loan production offices located in Western Pennsylvania, Eastern Pennsylvania, Northeast Ohio, Central Ohio, and Upstate New York.

S&T Bancorp, Inc. was founded in 1902 and is headquartered in Indiana, Pennsylvania.

I use three key data points to gauge dividend equities or funds like S&T Bancorp Inc:

(1) Price

(2) Dividends

(3) Returns

Those three basic keys best tell whether a company has made, is making, and will make money.

STBA Price

S&T's price per share closed at $27.65 yesterday. A year ago its price was $39.18. Price per share fell $11.53 or 29% last year.

If S&T's stock trades in the range of $18 to $36 this next year, its recent $27.65 price might rise by $2.35 to reach $30.00 by February 5, 2022.

STBA Dividends

S&T's most recently declared quarterly dividend was $0.28 payable on February 25th. Dividends are estimated to total $1.12 per share annually and yield 4.05% at yesterday's $27.65 closing price.

STBA Gains?

Adding the $1.12 annual STBA anticipated dividend to my $2.35 most optimistic price upside shows a $3.47potential gross gain, per share, to be reduced by any costs to trade the shares.

Put little under $1,000.00 today in S&T Bancorp Inc at $27.65 per share and we'd buy 36 shares of STBA stock.

A $10 broker fee (if charged) paid half at purchase and half at sale might cost us about $0.28 per share.

Subtract that maybe $0.28 brokerage cost from my estimated  $3.47 gross gain per share results in a net gain of $3.19 X 36 shares = $114.84 for an 11.5% net gain on a $995.40 investment.

S&T Bancorp Inc shows a possible 11.5% net gain including a 4.05% dividend yield. It could be more, it could be less.

All of the estimates above are speculation based on the past history of S&T Bancorp Inc. Only time and money invested in this stock will determine its worth.
