Kimball International Inc goes by the ticker symbol KBAL and is in the industrials business sector as an industrial furnishing fixtures and appliances manufacturer. This is my fourth report on Kimball International Inc for this Vista folio. I last mentioned them on April 15th

Kimball International Inc operates in the furniture manufacturing business. The company consolidated its furniture business and manufactures office and hospitality furniture exclusively.

The company's core market areas include commercial, hospitality, healthcare, education, government, and finance. The firm's furniture brand portfolio comprises Kimball, National, and Kimball Hospitality.

It markets and sells its products through sales representatives, office furniture dealers, wholesalers, brokers, designers, purchasing companies, and catalog houses to end-users.

The company was formerly known as The Jasper Corporation and changed its name to Kimball International, Inc. in July 1974. Kimball International, Inc. was incorporated in 1939 and is headquartered in Jasper, Indiana.

Three key data points gauge dividend equities or funds like Kimball International Inc:

(1) Price

(2) Dividends

(3) Returns

Those three basic keys best tell whether any company has made, is making, and will make money.

KBAL Price

Kimball's price per share closed at $13.69 yesterday. One year ago its price was $11.79. Thus, price per share grew over 16% in the past year as Kimball International Inc recovered from the Covid economic doldrums.

Should KBAL's stock trade in the range of $10 to  $20.00 this next year, its recent $13.69 price might rise by $2.81 to reach $16.50 by June 17, 2022. My estimate is $1.00 under the median of annual price estimates from the two analysts covering  Kimball International Inc.

KBAL Dividends

Kimball International Inc's most recent quarterly dividend payout of $0.09 is payable July 15th and equates to $0.36 annually which will yield 2.63% based on yesterday's $13.69 closing price. KBAL has paid quarterly dividends increasing annually since 2015 (6 years.)

KBAL Returns

Adding the $0.36 annual Kimball International Inc forward-looking dividend to my $2.81 price upside estimate shows a $3.17 potential gross gain, per share, to be reduced by any costs to trade KBAL. At yesterday's $13.69 price per share, a little under $1000 would buy 73 shares.

A $10 broker fee (if charged) would be paid half at purchase and half at a sale and might cost us about $0.14 per share.

Subtract that maybe $0.14 brokerage cost from my estimated $3.17 gross gain per share results in a net gain of $3.04 X 73 shares = $221.92 for a 22.2% net gain on a $985.68 investment.

So it is that Kimball International Inc shows a possible 22.2% net gain including a 2.63% forward estimated dividend yield.

Over the next year at this time, our $1000 investment in KBAL would generate $26.30 in cash dividends. And a single share bought at yesterday's closing price was $13.69! So, if KBAL is your kind of industrial furnishings and appliances concern, the Kimball International Inc share price is about half the expected annual dividend income from $1,000 invested. This suggests now is the time to add Kimball International Inc to your stock holdings because its price is now below the dividend income from $1K invested.

All of the estimates above are speculation based on the past history of Kimball International Inc. Only time and money invested in this stock will determine its true worth.
