Today we look at a large-cap Ohio Regional Bank company named Huntington Bancshares Inc. Its trading ticker symbol is HBAN. This is my first report on Huntington Bancshares Inc for this portfolio.

Huntington Bancshares is a regional bank holding company headquartered in Columbus, Ohio.

The bank has a network of branches and ATMs across eight Midwestern states. Founded in 1866, Huntington National Bank and its affiliates provide consumer, small business, commercial, treasury management, wealth management, brokerage, trust, and insurance services.

Huntington also provides auto dealer, equipment finance, national settlement, and capital market services that extend beyond its core states.

I use three key data points to gauge dividend equities or funds like Huntington Bancshares Inc (HBAN):

(1) Price

(2) Dividends

(3) Returns

Those three basic keys best tell whether a company has made, is making, and will make money.

HBAN Price

Huntington's price per share closed at $13.62 yesterday. A year ago its price was $13.87. Price per share fell $0.25 or 1.8% last year.

If Huntington's stock trades in the range of $7 to $17 this next year, its recent $13.62 price might rise by $1.38 to reach $15.00 by February 4, 2022.

HBAN Dividends

Huntington's most recently declared quarterly dividend was $0.15 payable on April 1st. Dividends are estimated to total $0.60 per share annually and yield 4.41% at yesterday's $13.62 closing price.

HBAN Gains?

Adding the $0.60 annual Unum Group anticipated dividend to my $1.38 most optimistic price upside shows a $1.98 potential gross gain, per share, to be reduced by any costs to trade the shares.

Put little under $1,000.00 today in Huntington Bancshares Inc at $13.62 per share and we'd buy 73 shares of HBAN stock.

A $10 broker fee (if charged) paid half at purchase and half at sale might cost us about $0.14 per share.

Subtract that maybe $0.14 brokerage cost from my estimated  $1.98 gross gain per share results in a net gain of $1.84 X 73 shares = $134.32 for a 13.4% net gain on a $994.26 investment.

Huntington Bancshares Inc shows a possible 13.4% net gain including a 4.41% dividend yield. It could be more, it could be less.

All of the estimates above are speculation based on the past history of Huntington Bancshares Inc. Only time and money invested in this stock will determine its worth.
