E Daily Stock Analysis: Hooker Furniture

Hooker Furniture Corp has the ticker symbol HOFT and is a member of the Consumer Cyclical sector as furniture fixtures and appliances company.  It has average value and strong fundamental scores on its track record but is now 59.92% over-priced based on its historic valuation of $23.42. This is my second report on HOFT in Vista. I previously talked about Hooker Furniture Corp on February 19,  three weeks ago.

Hooker Furniture Corp has found favor with investors lately. Its 27% stock price climb in the past year made headlines.

Hooker Furniture Corp is a designer, marketer, and importer of case goods, leather furniture, and fabric-upholstered furniture for the residential, hospitality, and contract markets. 

The company also domestically manufactures premium residential custom leather and custom fabric-upholstered furniture. Its segments are Hooker Branded, Home Meridian, Domestic Upholstery, and others. 

The Hooker Branded segment includes a wide range of design categories, home entertainment, home office, dining, and bedroom furniture, Home Meridian segment includes Samuel Lawrence Furniture, Pulaski Furniture, Domestic Upholstery includes the domestic upholstery manufacturing operations of Sam Moore and Shenandoah Furniture and others. 

The company generates a majority of its revenue from the Home Meridian Segment.

It sells home furnishing products through retailers comprising independent furniture stores, department stores, mass merchants, national chains, warehouse clubs, catalog merchants, interior designers, and e-commerce retailers principally in North America. Hooker Furniture Corporation was founded in 1924 and is headquartered in Martinsville, Virginia.

Hooker's price per share closed at $37.46 yesterday. A year ago its price was $15.21. Price per share has more than recovered from the Covid recession, being more than 146% above last-year's mark. (Price is up $5.42 since I reported on it three weeks ago.)
