The portfolio of stocks I started building on September 8, at a one stock per week pace for the next year, is named Vista. I will select its twelfth stock this weekend. Vista is the sixth portfolio I've built (at a one dividend dog per-week pace) since 2014. Six portfolios = VI for Vista!

Vista is planned to Look Ahead for Outstanding, Proven, Dividend Winners. (Like Aristocrats)

Today we'll review the fourth of four financial services sector stock candidates vying to be that twelfth selection and second of nine financial services members of the Vista portfolio.

My subject today is a large-cap diversified bank, named Citigroup Inc. Its trading ticker symbol is C. This is my first ever report on Citigroup Inc for Vista and any of my five previous portfolios.

Citigroup is a global financial services company doing business in more than 100 countries and jurisdictions.

Citigroup's operations are organized into two primary segments: the global consumer banking segment, which provides basic branch banking around the world, and the institutional clients group, which provides large customers around the globe with investment banking, cash management, and other products and services.

As of December 31, 2019, it operated 2,348 branches primarily in the United States, Mexico, and Asia.

Citigroup Inc. was founded in 1812 and is headquartered in New York, New York.

I use three key data points to gauge dividend equities or funds like Citigroup Inc (C):

(1) Price

(2) Dividends

(3) Returns

Those three basic keys best tell whether a company has made, is making, and will make money.

C Price

Citigroup's price per share closed at $57.02 Thursday. A year ago its price was $75.72. Price fell $18.70 or about 24.7% last year.

If Citigroup's stock trades in the range of $35 to $65 this next year, its recent $57.02 price might rise by $2.98 to reach $60.00 by November 27, 2021.

C Dividends

Citigroup's most recently declared quarterly dividend was $0.51 paid on November 25th. Dividends are estimated to total $2.04 per share annually and yield 3.58% at yesterday's $57.02 closing price.

C Gains?

Adding the $2.04 annual anticipated dividend to my $2.98 optimistic estimate of Citigroup Inc's price upside shows a $5.02 potential gross gain, per share, to be reduced by any costs to trade the shares.

Put little over $1,000.00 today in Citigroup Inc at $57.02 and we would buy 18 shares of C stock.

A $10 broker fee (if any) paid half at purchase and half at sale could cost us about $0.56 per share.

Subtract that $0.56 brokerage cost from my estimated $5.02 gross gain per share results in a net gain of $4.46 X 18 shares = $80.28 for an 8.00% net gain on a $1.026.36 investment.

So it goes that Citigroup Inc (C) shows a possible 8.00% net gain including a 3.58% dividend yield. It could be more, it could be less.

All of the estimates above are speculation based on the past history of Citigroup Inc (C). Only time and money invested in this stock will determine its worth.
