Cannabis Central: Pot Stock Index Up 5.7% Week Ending June 6

The NPSI tracks the 39 cannabis stocks that trade for US$1/share or more (i.e. 13% of the universe of 298 companies) and the performance of the index's constituents are presented below as well as that of the sector's 9 categories to allow for performance comparisons.

It was a very good week for non-penny pot stocks this past week (w/e June 6) with the NPSI going up 5.7%.

Of the 39 constituents, 28 went UP of which, as outlined below, 13 went UP by 5% or more.

  • 1 stock went UP in excess of 80%
    • FSD Pharma (HUGE) +83.2%
  • 2 stocks went UP between 30% and 79.9%
  • 1 stock went UP between 20% and 29.9%
    • Pyxus (PYX) +28.1%
  • 3 stocks went UP between 15% and 19.9%
    • Charlotte's Web (CWBHF) +18.4%
    • Medicine Man (SHWZ) +17.7%
    • Abacus (ABAHF) +17.6%
  • 4 stocks went UP between 10% and 14.9%

Of the 39 constituents, 11 went DOWN of which, as outlined below, 4 went DOWN by 5% or more.

    • This category consists of companies focused on developing and selling marijuana-infused products and companies focused on the extraction of cannabis compounds and their infusion into consumer products.
    • There are 3 NPSI constituents within this category  (CRLBFNEPT; NBEV) and they went UP 3.1%, on average.
  4. Consumption Devices Category:
    • This category consists of companies focused on developing and selling personal consumption devices for cannabis consumers such as vape pens and inhalers.
    • There are 3 NPSI constituents within this category (AYRSFGNLNPYX) and they went UP 4.9%, on average.
  5. Agricultural Technology Category:
    • This category consists of companies focused on providing automated growing systems, greenhouses, farming products, nutrients, hydroponics, fertilization systems, horticultural expertise, LED/lighting technologies, air filtration systems, and climate control and energy efficiency systems.
    • There are 2 NPSI constituents within this category (GRWGVFF) and they went UP 6.0%, on average.
  6. Real Estate Category:
    • This category consists of investment companies and REITs that develop, own, and/or lease commercial real estate properties to licensed cannabis operators.
    • There is only 1 NPSI constituent within this category (IIPR) and it went UP 14.4%.

    • This category consists of companies that provide professional services such as branding, packaging, bottling, compliance, physical security, transportation, lab testing, distribution, and insurance. consulting and other business services directly to marijuana cultivators and retailers.
    • There is only 1 NPSI constituent in this category (SHWZ) and it went UP 17.7%.
  8. Technology & Media Category:
    • This category covers companies that provide delivery services, enterprise software, e-commerce platforms, communication and mapping services, and trading platforms and companies that provide marijuana-related media including news, content, social networks, games, and entertainment.
    • There is only 1 NPSI constituent in this category (KERN) and it went DOWN 1.3%.
  9. Hemp Products Category:
    • This category consists of companies that produce and sell hemp products.
    • There are 2 NPSI constituent in this category (CWBHF; YCBD)  and they went UP 16.1%, on average.

In summary, all but 1 of the 9 categories went UP and 3 categories went DOWN in price.
