Cannabis Central: 92% Of Pot Stock Index Constituents Advanced Friday

The munKNEE.com Pot Stock Index of the 25 pure-play* cannabis stocks that trade for more than US$1/share advanced 3.7% on Friday with 23 (92%) of the constituents advancing. As a result, 3 of the 4 industry categories advanced as well. The details are as follows:

4 constituents advanced by 5% or more, namely:

  1. Trulieve (TCNNF) +7.7%
  2. Acreage (ACRGF) +6.3%
  3. Neptune (NEPT) +6.0%
  4. Rubicon (ROMJF) +5.3% (refer to favorable Q2 financial report here)

19 other constituents advanced less than 5%.

1 constituent declined by 5% or more, namely:

  • Avicanna (AVCNF) -6.5%

The only other non-gainer was cbdMD (YCBD), which declined 3.9%

  4. The Biotechnology Category consists of pharmaceutical companies marketing new drugs and products utilizing cannabinoids (CBD) and the category declined 6.5%.
    • the 1 constituent in this category is AVCNF

Interesting and educational. Considering that for many years the profits from illegal operations were enough to get people into the business, of course it should be a profitable sector, except for those instances of poor decisions. Some choices will always be unfortunate.
