Apple Inc (Nasdaq: AAPL) is in focus this morning following a report that the tech behemoth is still working on a foldable iPhone.
When can we expect a foldable iPhone?
Anonymous sources told “The Information” today that the multinational remains committed to launching foldable iPhones in various sizes.
Mass production of such devices, however, is unlikely to start before 2026. In fact, Apple may even call off its plans if a foldable smartphone fails to meet its standards, they added.
The news arrives just days after the Nasdaq-listed firm recorded $69.7 billion in iPhone revenue for its first financial quarter – up a more than expected 6.0% as Invezz reported here.
Wall Street currently has a consensus “overweight” rating on Apple stock that ended last year up close to 50%.
Rivals have already launched foldable phones
Note that Apple Inc has been working on foldable devices for years. Ming-Chi Kuo – a TF International Securities analyst even said last year that it will begin mass producing foldable iPads in the first three months of 2024.
The tech titan has so far refrained from commenting on “The Information” report on Wednesday.
It is also worth mentioning here that rivals including Samsung, Google, and Motorola have already launched foldable smartphones. None of them, however, have been able to take the market by storm to date due to several reasons, including snapped hinges.
It's FINALLY here! The thinnest and lightest foldable phone just landed in UAE 🙌
