Upcoming IPOs
SpaceX, OpenAI, and Anthropic have been planning for IPOs as early as this year, and the 3 deals alone would exceed the total proceeds from roughly 200 U.S. IPOs in 2025, The Financial Times' George Hammond reported.
SpaceX executives told investors in recent weeks that the company will go public within the next 12 months unless there is a major market shock, according to two people with knowledge of the matter. Meanwhile, Anthropic has appointed West Coast law firm Wilson Sonsini to begin IPO preparations. OpenAI has also been in talks with firms about IPO plans, but it has not yet selected its legal advisors, the sources said.
Audio AI Efforts
OpenAI has been taking steps to improve its audio AI models, in preparation for its AI-powered personal device, which is expected to be largely audio-based, The Information's Stephanie Palazzolo reported.
AI Tutorials
Sony (SONY) was up on Friday after the entertainment company's PlayStation division received a patent for AI tutorials, TipRanks' William White reported.
The patent described a system where players can receive assistance from a "ghost character" if they are stuck in a game. This ghost character would show the player how to progress past a puzzle or difficult section of the game. It appears that Sony will allow players to turn this AI companion on and off, meaning it won't be forced on players who don't want to deal with it, the author noted.
