A Peace Deal?

I am focusing on that subject today. The Dow is up on the hope of a peace deal over Ukraine from talks being held in Turkey.

Healthcare

*Our FDA backed a second booster shot against covid-19 for people aged over 50.

*The Cleveland Clinic today opened a second site in London at posh 33 Grosvenor Place. It already has a site at Harley Street, where medicos gather.

My daughter-in-law Margot is on the CC staff as a researcher,

*Coterra (CTRA) gained on its plans to buy into United Healthcare.

*GSK sub Viiv (no relation) got FDA approval for an oral treatment for HIV for adolescents aged over 12 and weighing more than 35 kilograms. 

*Reckitt Benckiser (sold) rose 2.64% today in British trading. 

*Compugen rose 3.4% in after market trading Monday. 

*Novo Nordisk got FDA approval for its 2 mg dose of diabetes drug Ozempic.

*Vir was given a lower estimate of $4.12 for the current quarter down from an earlier $4.19 but also was upgraded to buy from hold.

Energy

*BP is exiting its 2% stake in Rosneft. It also is partnering with Uber to support green skills training here. It also will develop green hydrogen with Aberdeen 

City Council in Scotland andin Teesside, near its offshore drilling sites. 

*Nobody seems to be ready to pay for Russian gas with rubles..

*Petrobras of Brazil got a higher target price of .92 up from an earlier forecast of .846. It is our latest buy in this sector.

-Other sectors
*Nokia did a deal with Chunghawa of China for 5G and the stock rose 1.76%. NOK gained in UK trading.

*Taiwan Semiconductor fell fractionally today.

*Cemex rose another 4.32%.

*Bullish views of gold's prices led to Agnico Eagle getting a target price of .496 up from prior 4.91.

*April is the cruelest month in Bangkok's bourse because there are so many holidays, writes Paul Renaud.
