Household Employment Falls

“Davidson” submits:

The COVID-19 shutdown is reflected in 2,987,000 drop in the Household Survey Employment report this week and a drop to an est SAAR (Seasonally Adjusted Annual Rate) for Light Weight Vehicle sales in the 14mil range. It is uncertain when the peak infection rate is likely even though some estimate this to be as soon as a few weeks-time. Once the assessment has been made that individuals can return to work, this period will be behind us.

The deaths forecasted from COVID-19 have been falling rapidly, falling from 2mil to a potential 240,000 est recently, as knowledge is gained. The link to a Google COVID-19 Map shows infection in the US at a level of 0.08% or quite low. This data has the US death rate at 6,059 or 0.0018%, a very small level that is not likely to reach even greatly reduced forecasts of 240,000. Treatments are in process with many successes. Let’s hope for a rapid resolution.
