Neptune Wellness Solutions Inc. (Nasdaq: NEPT) (TSX: NEPT) announced its Q4 financial and operating results this past week for the three-month period and year ended March 31, 2020.
Financial Highlights (All amounts are in thousands of Canadian dollars except if specified otherwise and are compared to the previous quarter.)
- Total revenues: increased by 4%
- Cannabis revenues increased 43%
- Nutraceutical revenues decreased 13%
- Net Profit (Loss): increased 217% to ($39.2M)
- Adjusted EBITDA: decreased 47.2% to a loss of $25.4M
Operation Highlights
- restructured its business into six business units with dedicated sales resources to drive accelerated growth and innovation across each of the business platforms. The six business units include:
- Consumer Brands consisting of the Forest Remedies and Ocean Remedies brands.
- Cannabis and Hemp which includes extraction operations in both Canada and the U.S.
- Turnkey Solutions that is positioned to drive product development with extensive supply chain capabilities to provide end-to-end consumer solutions across the health and wellness industry.
- Health and Wellness Innovations that is positioned to rapidly respond to evolving consumer trends such as the recent launches of hand sanitizers and the Neptune Air non-contact thermometer.
- Neptune Ventures is the platform for strategic investments and provides an incubator for emerging technologies, brands and other innovations.
- Neptune Royalties that is focused on growing and capitalizing on intellectual property and licensing opportunities.
- announced the expansion of its strategic partnership with American Media LLC to help support the U.S. launch and growth of Neptune's Ocean Remedies brand and product line.
- announced the official launch of the Forest Remedies and Ocean Remedies brands.
- announced the appointment of David Mayers as Chief Operating Officer.
- announced it had entered into an Open Market Sale Agreement with Jefferies LLC.
- announced it had received Health Canada's authorization to commercialize natural, plant-based hand sanitizer products.
- announced it had engaged with the National Research Council of Canada (NRC) to support NRC's efforts to facilitate the development, manufacturing and ultimately commercialization of solutions to meet COVID-19 related needs.

- announced that it has entered into an extraction partnership for hemp processing resulting in revenues to the Company of a minimum $16.5M over the first six month period.
Forward Guidance
For the first quarter of fiscal 2021, the Company is reiterating its guidance for revenue of between $18M and $22M, reflecting accelerated growth across several of the Company's business units.
