Asian markets traded mostly lower on Wednesday, tracking overnight mixed cues from Wall Street.
US stock market ended mixed on Tuesday, dragged down by weakness in large-cap tech stocks.

At present, the BSE Sensex is trading 80 points higher, and the NSE Nifty is trading 18 points higher.
Infosys, Tech Mahindra, and Tata Motors are among the top gainers today.
Bajaj Finserv, Asian Paints, and HDFC Bank, on the other hand, are among the top losers today.
The BSE Midcap index is trading 0.1% higher, and the BSE Smallcap index is trading 0.1% higher.
Sectoral indices are trading mixed today, with stocks in the media sector and the IT sector witnessing buying. Meanwhile, stocks in the energy sector and the financial sector witness selling pressure.
The rupee is trading at Rs 85.6 against the US dollar.
RITES Wins Two Major Rail Contract
RITES Ltd won two new contracts, one abroad and one in India through a joint venture.
The company received a purchase order from African Rail Company for the supply and commissioning of two completely restored Cape Gauge ALCO diesel-electric locomotives.
These locomotives have new Cape Gauge Bogies, Traction Motors, Control Systems, and Air Brake systems installed. They will be used in Zimbabwe, Mozambique, and Botswana.
RITES will deploy a technical team and provide warranty services for the overhauled units. It is anticipated that Rs 0.3 billion (bn) (CIF) order will be accomplished in nine months.
Separately, Southwestern Railway has granted the RITES-Aryan joint venture a Letter of Acceptance for the renovation of Tumakuru Station.
RITES will handle civil work, signalling, telecom and electrical services for a project. The project must be completed within 540 days, and RITES' share in the order stands for Rs 0.4 bn.
Gujarat Urban Development Company Limited (GUDC) sent RITES a Letter of Intent (LoI) last month for a project worth Rs 0.3 bn. Under the terms of the contract, RITES will be designated as the Third Party Inspection (TPI) agency for sewage treatment plant (STP), underground drainage (UGD), and water supply systems (WSS) projects in Gujarat's urban local bodies (ULBs) under the AMRUT 2.0 and SJMMSVY schemes.
Paras Defence Bags French Anti-Drone Order
Paras Anti-Drone Technologies Pvt Ltd, a division of Paras Defence and Space Technologies Ltd (PARAS), has received an international order for its next-generation drone countermeasure system, CHIMAERA 200, marking a significant milestone to India's expanding defence technological capabilities.
With a contract value of Rs 0.2 bn, French anti-drone giant Cerbair has issued a Letter of Intent (LoI) to buy 30 units of the system.
The CHIMERA 200 is an advanced system that detects and disables enemy drones by interrupting their communication signals, helping to counter modern aerial threats.
Cerbair's intent to procure CHIMERA units underscores the global interest in India's homegrown counter-drone technology, particularly as drone threats continue to evolve across military, homeland security, and critical infrastructure sectors.
Paras Defence, the parent firm, is engaged in the design, development, manufacturing, and testing of a wide array of advanced defence and space engineering systems.
JSW Energy Inks Rajasthan Battery Deal
JSW Energy's subsidiary has signed an agreement with Rajasthan's power generation company Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Ltd (RVUNL) to set up a 250 MW battery energy storage system, promoting clean energy and grid stability.
In Rajasthan, the project will be developed using the build, own, and operate model. To improve grid cost viability, RVUNL will purchase energy storage services under the 12-year agreement at a monthly rate of Rs 2,24,000 per MW, supported by viability gap funding.
With this addition, JSW Energy now has 29.3 GWh of committed energy storage capacity, which includes 26.4 GWh of pumped hydro storage and 2.9 GWh of BESS. This puts JSW Energy entirely on track to meet its storage capacity goal of 40 GWh by 2030 said the company.
JSW Energy's subsidiary, Energizent Power, has signed a 25-year power purchase agreement with NHPC Ltd for a 300 MW solar-wind hybrid project in Rajasthan and Andhra Pradesh, with a commissioning timeline of 24 months.
