Sensex Today Trades 300 Points Higher; Inox Wind Energy Zooms 14%

Asian shares markets are trading on a mildly positive note today with support from a rally on Wall Street amid optimism that the Federal Reserve will pause its most-aggressive tightening campaign in decades.

The Nikkei is trading higher by 2%. The Hang Seng index ended 0.4% higher and the Shanghai Composite is down marginally

The S&P 500 and the Nasdaq rallied on Monday to their highest closing levels since April 2022, while Oracle hit a record high ahead of quarterly results as investors awaited inflation data and the Federal Reserve's interest rate decision this week.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average ended 0.6 higher and the tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite rallied 1.8%.

Back home, Indian share markets are trading on a positive note following the trend on SGX Nifty.

At present, the BSE Sensex is trading higher by 328 points. Meanwhile, the NSE Nifty is trading up by 93 points.

Asian Paints and ITC are among the top gainers today.

Kotak Mahindra Bank and HCL Technologies on the other hand are among the top losers today.

Broader markets are trading on a positive note. The BSE Mid Cap index is up 0.8% the BSE Small Cap index is trading 0.7% higher.

Sectoral indices are trading on a positive note. Stocks in the FMCG sector and consumer durables sector witness most of the buying.

Shares of MRF and Nestle India hit their 52-week high today.

The rupee is trading at Rs 82.44 against the US dollar.

In commodity markets, gold prices are trading higher by 138 to Rs 59,779 per 10 grams today.

Meanwhile, silver prices are trading lower by 0.5% at Rs 73,366 per 1 kg.

Caplin Point Laboratories receives USFDA approval

Caplin Point Laboratories' subsidiary, Caplin Steriles has been granted final approval from the United States Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) for its abbreviated new drug application (ANDA) Cisatracurium Besylate Injection USP, 10 mg/5 mL (2 mg/mL) and 200 mg/20 mL (10 mg/mL) single-dose vials; and 20 mg/10 mL (2 mg/mL) multiple-dose Vials (preserved ), a generic therapeutic equivalent version of (RLD), NIMBEX injection of AbbVie Inc.

Cisatracurium Besylate Injection USP is a non-depolarizing skeletal neuromuscular blocker, indicated as an adjunct to general anesthesia to facilitate tracheal intubation and to provide skeletal muscle relaxation during surgical procedures.

According to IQVIATM (IMS Health) data, Cisatracurium Besylate Injection USP had US sales of approximately US$ 35 million (m) for the 12-month period ending December 2022.

Caplin Point Laboratories is a small cap company engaged mainly in manufacturing a wide range of ointments, creams, and other external application preparations in addition to the regular segments of pharmaceutical formulations.

Speaking of small cap stocks, the Nifty Small Cap index is currently trading at a 52-week high, although the underperformance of energy and IT giants has prevented the benchmark Nifty 50 index from breaching the 52-week high resistance level.

The Nifty SmallCap 100 index is a widely followed benchmark that tracks the performance of small-cap stocks in the Indian equity market.

Tata Motors' subsidiary Jaguar Land Rover lays down annual investment plan

Tata Motors' owned Jaguar Land Rover plans an annual investment of 3 billion (bn) pounds while targetting revenue of over 30 bn pounds by the financial year 2026, according to an investor presentation by the company.

Jaguar Land Rover (JLR), which makes SUVs such as Range Rover, Defender, and Discovery under the Land Rover brand and Jaguar luxury cars, expects to have revenue of over 28 bn pounds in the financial year 2024.

Under its 'Reimagine' strategy, which was designed to address the key challenges facing its business, the auto company had aimed to become a more agile business, with a simplified manufacturing operation and an ambition to achieve positive cash net-of-debt by 2025.

In its 'Investor Day 2023' presentation, JLR said, Reimagine will deliver and its investment target is 3 bn pounds per annum.

Further, the Tata Group company is looking at a free cash flow of 2 bn pounds by the financial year 2024 and continuing to be significantly positive thereafter.

The EBIT margin will also improve from over 6% in the financial year 2024 to more than 10% by the financial year 2026.

Earlier last month, the company had planned to invest 15 bn pounds over five years in its electrification and digital transformation.

The company's Halewood plant in the UK would become an all-electric manufacturing facility and over 11,300 employees and partners have been reskilled for electrification with a further 11,625 in training.
