Sensex Today Rallies 733 Points; Nifty Above 25,350
Asian markets traded higher on Thursday, following an overnight rally on Wall Street.
US stock market ended higher on Wednesday as investors cheered the framework of the Greenland deal, and the possibility of new US tariffs on European allies had been averted.

At present, the BSE Sensex is trading 733 points higher, and the NSE Nifty is trading 239 points higher.
Asian Paints, SBI, and Adani Ports are among the top gainers today.
Hind Copper, J K Cement, and Hindustan Zinc, on the other hand, are among the top losers today.
The BSE Midcap index is trading 1.6% higher, and the BSE Smallcap index is trading 1.6% higher.
Sectoral indices are trading positively today, with stocks in the metal sector and the services sector witnessing buying.
The rupee is trading at Rs 90 against the US dollar.
CESC Renewable Unit Expands Uttar Pradesh Solar
CESC Ltd said that its renewable energy subsidiary, CESC Green Power Ltd, has signed an agreement with the Uttar Pradesh government on 20 January 2026. Under this plan, the company will invest about Rs 38 billion (bn) in the state.
The project will include setting up a 3 GW solar cell and solar module manufacturing plant, a 60 MW solar power plant, and related facilities such as a research and development lab and supporting infrastructure.
Earlier, in 2025, CESC Green Power had also received initial approval from the Odisha government to set up a large renewable energy manufacturing facility in Dhenkanal district, showing the company's broader push into clean energy.
Biocon Boosts Biologics Ownership to 98%
Biocon Ltd said on Tuesday, 21 January 2026 that it has completed the purchase of the remaining shares of its unlisted subsidiary, Biocon Biologics Ltd (BBL), from Mylan Inc. The latest transaction involved a payment of $200 million (around Rs 16.5 bn).
This deal is part of a larger acquisition plan approved by Biocon's board in December 2025. Under this plan, Biocon agreed to buy a total of 14.37 crore shares of Biocon Biologics from various investors, including Mylan, for $400 million (around Rs 33 bn).
Earlier, on January 5, 2026, Biocon had completed the purchase of 7.18 crore shares from Mylan as part of this agreement. With the acquisition of the remaining 7.18 crore shares on January 21, the full buyout from Mylan is now complete.
After this transaction, Biocon's ownership in Biocon Biologics has increased to about 98% of the company's total equity on a fully diluted basis, giving it near-complete control of the biologics business.

Bajaj Consumer Care Q3 Results
Shares of Bajaj Consumer Care came into focus after the company reported its Q3 FY26 results.
Revenue from operations increased 30.5% year-on-year to Rs 3.06 bn, up from Rs 2.34 bn a year ago.
Operating performance also improved significantly. EBITDA nearly doubled to Rs 0.56 bn, compared with Rs 0.29 bn in the December quarter last year. As a result, operating margins expanded to 18.3%, from 12.2% in Q3 FY25.
The company said its hair oil and coconut oil segment, which is a nearly $2 billion market, continues to generate strong margins. Almond Drop Hair Oil led to growth in the domestic business, supported by double-digit volume growth.
The company's net profit jumped 83.4% year-on-year to Rs 0.46 bn, compared with Rs 0.25 bn in the same quarter last year. The sharp rise was driven by strong demand in the domestic market and better profit margins.
