Sensex Today Rallies 700 Points; Nifty Above 25,000
Asian markets are declining on Monday due to renewed trade and tariff concerns after US President Donald Trump threat to impose 50% tariff on imports from European Union. This move has sparked fears of a global trade war, causing wall street to plummet and Asian markets to follow suit.
US markets declined on Friday, after US President Trump announced plans to impose 50% tariff on imports from European Union starting from 1 June 2025.

At present, the BSE Sensex is trading 720 points higher, and the NSE Nifty is trading 180 points higher.
M&M, Titan Company, and Tata Motors are among the top gainers today
Eternal, on the other hand, is among the top losers today.
The BSE MidCap index ended 0.7% higher, and the BSE SmallCap index ended 0.8% higher.
Sectoral indices were trading positively today, with stocks in the auto sector and the power sector witnessing buying.
Supreme Court Dismisses Airtel's DTH Tax Appeal
Bharti Airtel's subsidiary Bharti Telemedia appeal against entertainment tax in DTH services was dismissed by the Supreme Court.
The company had to pay Rs 5.8 billion (bn) which was already provisioned and Rs 5.7bn has already been paid. Bharti Airtel is reviewing the judgement to decide next steps.
Additionally, Bharti Airtel's net profit jumped five times to Rs 110.2 bn in Q4FY25, driven by tariff hikes and tax benefits.
It also got a one-time tax benefit of Rs 59.3 bn due to favourable tax orders in its Q4.
Bharti Telemedia is a subsidiary of Bharti Airtel, offering digital TV services like Airtel Digital TV.
JK Cements Announces Q4 Results
JK cement reported boost in profits, with its net profit jumped 64.5% to Rs 3.6 bn in Q4FY25, up from Rs 2.2 bn in the same quarter last year.
Its revenue from operation grew by 15.3% to Rs 358.1 bn in Q4FY25 compared to Rs 310.6 bn in the previous year.
The company's total expenses increased 9.8% to Rs 309.2 bn in Q4FY25.
Total Income including other income grew 15% to Rs 362.7 bn.
For FY25, net profit surged 10.4% to Rs 87.2 bn compared to Rs 78.9 bn in the same period last year.
JK Cements total consolidated income for FY25 grew 3% to Rs 1,205.2 bn.
Also, the company has a production capacity of 24.3 million tonnes per year of grey cement, 1.1 million tonnes per year white cement and 1.3 million tonnes per year of wall putty.
JK Cement manufactures and sell cements and related products, with over 40 years of experience, as a part of the JK Organisation industrial group.
NCLT Approves Inox Wind Energy Merger
The National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) has given its approval for the merger of Inox Wind Energy Limited with its parent company Inox Wind Limited.
Inox Wind got approval from BSE and NSE in 2023 for merging Inox Wind Energy itself.
Inox Wind's board of directors approved merging with Inox Wind Energy in June 2023, pending approvals.
For every 10 shares in Inox Wind Energy, 158 shares in Inox Wind will be given, benefiting Inox Wind Energy shareholders by about 25%.
Inox Wind Energy is involved in generating and selling wind power, and provided EPC (Erection, Procurement and Commissioning) services for wind farm projects, while holding strategic investments in the renewable energy sector.
After merging with Inox Wind, the company aims to streamline operations and strengthen its position as a leading player in renewable energy.
Inox Wind is one of the largest manufacturers of wind turbine generators in India. It's part of the Inox group.
It also offers engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) services for wind farms, even generating and selling wind power itself.
