Sensex Today Ends 62 Points On Muhurat Trading Session

The Indian stock markets kicked off the Samvat 2082 on a cautious note. The benchmark indices, Sensex and Nifty, settled flat with a positive bias in a special Muhurat trading session today, in celebration of Diwali.

This annual tradition, seen as an auspicious event, signifies the commencement of the new Hindu calendar year Vikram Samvat 2082.

At the closing bell, the BSE Sensex stood higher by 62 points (up 0.1%).

Meanwhile, the NSE Nifty closed higher by 25 points (up 0.1%).

Bajaj Finserv, Cipla, and Infosys are among the top gainers today.

HCL Tech, ICICI Bank, and Asian Paints, on the other hand, were among the top losers today.

The BSE MidCap index ended 0.2% higher, and the BSE SmallCap index ended 0.9% higher.

Most sectoral indices were trading positively today, with stocks in the power sector and the metal sector witnessing buying.

TVS Holdings, CEAT, and Cipla hit their respective 52-week highs today.

The rupee is trading at 88.03 against the US$.
 

Why Did Unimech Aerospace Zoom 5% on Muhurat Trading?

In the news, Unimech Aerospace and Manufacturing (Unimech Aerospace) share price was buzzing in trade on Tuesday, 21 October 2025, with the scrip rising up to 5% to hit an intraday high of Rs 988.10 per share.

Shares of Unimech Aerospace surged after the company announced the commissioning of two new manufacturing facilities at the KIADB Aerospace Park in Bengaluru, Karnataka.

The newly inaugurated Precision Engineering Facility (Unit 3), spread across 33,000 sq. ft., expands the company's existing Peenya operations and will be dedicated to producing high-precision components and systems for the nuclear, aerospace, and oil and gas sectors.

The second facility, a 30,000 sq. ft. Fabrication Unit (Unit 4), will manufacture engine stands for LEAP engines and other aero-engine programmes, along with self-elevating platforms for the domestic nuclear segment.

Geojit Financial Q2 Results

Moving on, brokerage firm Geojit Financial Services Ltd on Monday (October 20) reported a 59% year-on-year decline in net profit to Rs 23.5 crore for the second quarter ended September 2025, compared with Rs 57.4 crore in the same period last year. Revenue for the quarter fell 22% to Rs 169.8 crore from Rs 218.4 crore a year ago.

In addition, Geojit Financial Services announced the retirement of A. Balakrishnan, Executive Director, from the company's board of directors. Balakrishnan is stepping down as Executive Director effective 20 October 2025, after serving the company for over twenty-seven years.
 

Why did Ola Electric Mobility's shares decline 4%?

Moving on, shares of Bhavish Aggarwal-led Ola Electric Mobility came under pressure on Tuesday, 21 October 2025, during Muhurat Day trading.

The company's stock slipped 4.16%, hitting an intraday low of Rs 52.65 on the NSE.

The decline followed a clarification sought by the exchanges after a news report published on Business Standard dated October 20, 2025, titled "Bhavish Aggarwal, Ola Electric execs booked after employee's suicide."

In response, Ola Electric stated in an exchange filing that it has challenged the registration of the FIR before the Hon'ble High Court of Karnataka, where protective orders have been granted in favour of the company and its officials.

It further clarified that no chargesheet has been filed against Ola Electric or any of its executives.

Ola Electric Mobility is a leading EV manufacturer in India, specialising in the vertical integration of technology and manufacturing for EVs and their components, including battery cells.

Its operations are centred around the Ola Future factory, where production of EVs and critical components like battery packs, motors, and vehicle frames is undertaken. Ola's R&D efforts span India, the UK, and the US, focusing on innovation in EV products and core components.
