Nifty Below 25,500; Tata Motors & Infosys Top Losers

Asian markets saw a mixed start on Thursday after U.S. President Donald Trump announced a 50% tariff on Brazilian imports effective August 1.

US markets closed higher on Wednesday. Investor sentiment was also lifted by the Federal Reserve's meeting minutes, which suggested that inflation from former President Donald Trump's tariffs may not hinder potential interest rate cuts this year.

At present, the BSE Sensex is trading 101 points lower, and the NSE Nifty is trading 35 points lower.

Tata Steel, Power Grid Corp, Bajaj Finance among the top gainers today.

M&M, Tata Motors, and Bharti Airtel, on the other hand, are among the top losers today.

The BSE Midcap index is trading 0.1% higher, and the BSE Smallcap index is trading 0.3% higher.

Sectoral indices are trading mixed today, with stocks in the power sector and the metal sector witnessing buying. Meanwhile, stocks in the healthcare sector and the auto sector witness selling pressure.

The rupee is trading at Rs 85.5 against the US dollar.
 

Enviro Infra Secures Pollution Control Project

Enviro Infra Secures Rs 3.9 billion (bn) project as the main partner in a joint venture with AltoraPro Infrastructure, awarded by the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC).

The Panchganga River pollution control program includes the upgrade of the common effluent treatment plants in Kolhapur district under the contract.

The project will be carried out over 24 months, and the Letter of Intent was issued on 8 July, according to the company's filing.

Design, supply, installation, construction, testing, commissioning, and operation and maintenance of the upgraded facilities are all included in the scope of work. The plants will supply Ichalkaranji, Hatkanangale, and Yadrav cooperative industrial estates and have zero liquid discharge systems.

Enviro Infra Engineers was founded in 2009 and collaborates with government agencies and entities to design, construct, operate, and maintain water and wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) and water supply systems (WSSPs).
 

ACC Launches New Grinding Unit in Jharkhand

On Wednesday, Ambuja Cements Limited, a company in the Adani Group, announced that ACC Limited, a subsidiary, had successfully put into service a 1.5 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) brownfield grinding unit at its Sindri plant in Jharkhand.

Ambuja Cement's installed capacity reaches 104.5 MTPA after the new unit's launch, marking a major growth milestone.

Ambuja Cement announced in June that a 2.4 MTPA brownfield expansion of its cement unit in Sankrail, West Bengal, had been successfully put into service. Its capacity had grown to 102.95 MTPA at the time of commissioning.

Ambuja Cements Ltd. is among the leading cement companies in India. It belongs to the Adani Group. Ambuja Cement currently operates eight cement grinding facilities and six integrated cement manufacturing plants throughout the nation, with a cement capacity of 31 million tonnes.

RailTel Wins Chhattisgarh Contract

On Wednesday, the General Administration Department (GAD) of Chhattisgarh awarded RailTel Corporation of India Ltd, a public sector company under the Ministry of Railways, a new government contract valued at Rs 0.2 bn.

The order calls for network connectivity, hardware procurement, commissioning, long-term operation, and maintenance in addition to the deployment of a redesigned integrated communication infrastructure that includes WLAN, LAN, and EPBAX systems. The project is expected to be finished by 14 January 2031.

This most recent contract brings RailTel's total order value for the month to over Rs 1.3 bn, adding to a series of notable orders it received in July.

The company received a Letter of Intent from the Central Warehousing Corporation for a project worth Rs 0.9 bn.

The supply, installation, testing, commissioning, and thorough maintenance of smart warehousing systems in 226 food grain warehouses across the country are all included in this contract. It is anticipated that the project will be finished by 6 July 2030.

Earlier, on 1 July 2025, the Cuttack Development Authority gave RailTel a Rs 0.2 bn contract to install eight AI-powered digital billboards throughout the city. This project is expected to be finished by 2 November 2025 and is a component of Cuttack's smart city development initiatives.

These consecutive victories highlight RailTel's expanding footprint in India's smart governance and digital infrastructure industries.
