Nifty Above 25,400; Sensex Today Trades Higher
Asian markets traded mixed on Thursday, following a similar trend on Wall Street overnight, after the US Federal Reserve cut its benchmark rate as expected.
US stock market ended mixed on Wednesday after the US Federal Reserve cut interest rates by an expected 25 basis points.

At present, the BSE Sensex is trading 340 points higher and NSE Nifty is trading 88 points higher.
Infosys, HCL Tech, Tech Mahindra among the top gainers today.
Bajaj Finance, Tata Steel, UltraTech Cement on the other hand are among the top losers today.
The BSE Midcap index is trading 0.2% higher and the BSE Smallcap index is trading 0.3% higher.
Baring capital goods sector and commodities sector all other sectoral indices are trading positive today with stocks in media sector and IT sector are witnessing buying.
The rupee is trading at Rs 88.1 against the US dollar.
Waaree to Sell Indosolar Stake
Waaree Energies Limited, the promoter of Indosolar Limited, is selling 61 lakh shares, or 14.66% of its stake, in Indosolar through an Offer for Sale on the stock exchanges.
Waaree Energies' Offer for Sale (OFS) for Indosolar shares will be open for non-retail investors on 18 September 2025, and for retail investors on 19 September 2025.
The shares, valued at Rs 10 each, will be sold through a special trading window on the stock exchanges.
Waaree Energies is selling its stake in Indosolar to meet regulatory requirements that mandate a minimum public shareholding.
This move is in line with capital market regulator's rules, which allow Offer for Sale as a method to achieve the required public shareholding.
Indosolar produces photovoltaic cells and modules as part of India's expanding renewable energy industry. The OFS coincides with increased market attention to solar companies as the drive for clean energy gains momentum among investors and policymakers.
Cochin Shipyard Gets Big ONGC Order
On Wednesday, 17 September 2025, Cochin Shipyard secured a Rs 2 billion (bn) order for major lay-up repairs or dry docking of jack-up rigs.
In a regulatory filing, the shipbuilding company stated that it had signed a contract with Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC).
It further stated that the project will be completed in a year.
The defence company and HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering (KSOE) inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in July, laying the groundwork for future cooperation in key areas of shipbuilding and maritime development.
Cochin Shipyard builds and repairs various vessels and upgrades and extends ship life. It has exported 45 ships to clients abroad, showcasing its expertise.
Dixon Technologies Acquires Kunshan Q Majority Stake
Dixon Technologies (India) Limited has announced plans to acquire a 51% stake in Kunshan Q Tech Microelectronics (India) Pvt Ltd, a producer of camera and fingerprint modules for mobile phones, Internet of Things devices, and automotive applications.
The deal, valued at Rs 5.5 bn, will be executed through a mix of share purchase and subscription agreements.
Dixon will purchase shares from Q Technology (Singapore) Pvt Ltd and Kunshan Q Technology International Ltd for Rs 4.3 bn as part of the deal. Dixon will also subscribe for new shares worth Rs 1.2 bn.
The acquisition aims to improve Dixon's backward integration, boost its manufacturing capabilities in the mobile and IoT sectors, and unlock synergies through faster go-to-market solutions and technology transfer.
In FY25, Kunshan Q Tech Microelectronics India reported a Rs 1.98 bn turnover. It is anticipated that the transaction will be finalised within 90 days, subject to customary approvals and closing conditions.
Dixon Technologies stated that the action is in line with its long-term goal of establishing itself as a major facilitator in the ecosystem of electronics manufacturing in India.
