E Canada’s Economic Recovery From The Pandemic Recession Will Be Painful, Just As In The US

In many respects, the outlook for Canada’s economy remains quite grim since Canada is so dependent on the recovery in the US economy.

Nonetheless, because of the unique nature of the pandemic recession, the initial employment gains in May and June seem much stronger than in previous economic downturns.

Looking ahead, we should expect slow job growth for some time, and Canada to be left with a legacy of extremely high unemployment when the recession is fully over.
