US/AMERICAS:

Wells Fargo settled has agreed to pay fines imposed by Consumer Financial Protection Bureau for mishandling customers in regards to auto loans, mortgages, and overdraft fees. The bank must pay a civil penalty fee of $1.7 billion in addition to reimbursing $2 billion across 16 million accounts. The expenses will amount to an operating loss of $3.5 billion in Q4.

Rental prices across the US remain elevated, with prices declining ever so slightly in November. Prices rose for the tenth consecutive month, but November’s gain marked the slowest gain in 19 months. Rentals are still up 3.4% compared to November 2021. The median rental price in America fell by just $22 and now stands at $1,712.
