Daily Stock Pick; The Hackett Group
A portfolio of stocks I've been building since September 3, 2019, named Volio, will eventually hold 52 dividend dogs. Volio is the fifth portfolio I've built (at a one dividend dog per-week pace) since 2014. Five portfolios = V for Volio!
Today I'm reviewing the third of five technology sector stocks striving to join my Volio folio this week. This could be my thirty-fifth pick for Volio!
That technology sector includes nineteen industries ranging from communication equipment, computers, consumer electronics, and contract manufacturing, to health, information technology and services, to internet, scientific instruments, software, solar, and all such techno-marvels.
My subject today is an electronic components company My subject today is an information technology services company named, The Hackett Group Inc. Its trading ticker symbol is HCKT. This is my second report on The Hackett Group Inc. My previous report was in September 2019.

I use three key data points to gauge dividend equities or funds like The Hackett Group Inc:
(1) Price
(2) Dividends
(3) Returns
Besides those three, several other keys will finally unlock an equity or fund in which to invest, or not.
Those three basic keys, however, best tell whether a company has made, is making, and will make money.
HCKT Price
Hackett's price per share closed at $14.98 yesterday. A year ago their price was $15.43. Market price dropped $0.46 or just under 3%.
Assuming Hackett's stock trades in the range of $10 to $20 this next year, its recent $14.98 price might rise by $3.02 to reach $18.00 by April 29, 2021.
HCKT Dividends
Hackett's most recent declared semi-annual dividend was $0.18 paid January 7th. That $0.18 SA dividend equates to $0.36 annually and yields 2.4% at yesterday's $14.98 share price.
HCKT Gains?
Adding the $0.36 annual estimated dividend to my $3.02 optimistic estimate of HCKT's price upside shows a $3.38 potential gross gain, per share, reduced by any costs to trade those shares.
A little over $1,000.00 today put into The Hackett Group Inc shares at their $14.98 price, buys 67 shares of HCKT.
A $10 broker fee paid half at purchase and half at sale could cost about $0.15 per share.
Subtract that $0.15 brokerage cost from my estimated $3.38 gross gain per share results in a net gain of $3.23 X 67 shares = $216.41 or a 21.6% net gain on a $1,003.66 investment.
Therefore, The Hackett Group Inc, whose trading ticker symbol is HCKT shows a possible 21.6% net gain including a 2.4% dividend yield. It could be more, it could be less.
The above speculation is based on past performance and supposition. Only time and money invested will tell if The Hackett Group Inc is worth the expenditure.
