Chief Market Strategist Gareth Soloway alerts investors to his 2026 forecast on currencies. Based on pure technical analysis, the DXY will break a major support trendline established during the financial crisis in 2008. The trigger for this is countries moving away from the reliance on the Dollar after tariffs were imposed. Gareth then analyzes the EUR/USD and GBP/USD, both confirming this analysis as they have broken above significant long-term trendlines. Lastly, Gareth analyzes the USD/JPY finding that of all currencies, the Yen looks to weaken against the Dollar. In other words, the Yen is setting up to perform the worst in 2026, the Dollar next and the strongest (winners) will be the pound and euro.
