S&P 500 Nabs Record As Stocks Settle Quietly Higher
Nvidia's (NVDA) earnings release, which is due out after the close, drove investor sentiment on an otherwise mostly quiet day on Wall Street. The S&P 500 managed to snag a fresh record close, while the Nasdaq and Dow eked out modest wins. The 10-year Treasury yield continued to rise as investors brushed off yesterday's Fed feud.

GOLD EKES OUT SMALL GAIN DESPITE RISING YIELDS
A bigger-than-anticipated drop in U.S. crude inventories, combined with the possible impact of U.S. tariffs on India pushed oil higher today. September-dated West Texas Intermediate (WTI) rose 1.4%, or 90 cents, to settle at $64.15 per barrel.
A rise in yields and the U.S. dollar pressured gold, though it eked out a gain for the session. December-dated gold futures added 0.2% to finish at $3,438.30 per ounce.
