It was a quiet day in the gold market on Thursday, with a brief reprieve from any major war headlines, and the futures are currently down a dollar on the day.

The silver price had an active session in the Far East beginning last night, and despite some volatile trading, is 44 cents higher at $36.55.

But perhaps the real development is seeing the dollar index finally fall below the 97 level, and continue sinking further to its lowest price since 2022.
