Dow Snaps Win Streak As Nasdaq Bounces Back
The Dow cooled off today, falling 299 points -- the blue-chip index's worst session of the month -- to snap a five-day win streak. Elsewhere, the S&P 500 and Nasdaq both halted their three-day losing streaks, with a resurgent Nvidia (NVDA) catapulting the latter to triple-digit gains. Today's tech rally comes as investors unpack a slightly lower consumer confidence reading of 100.4.
OIL, GOLD BACKPEDAL
August-dated West Intermediate (WTI) crude fell for today's session, with yesterday's surge in price easing. Crude finished down 80 cents, or 1%, to settle at $80.83 per barrel.
On the back of rising Treasury yields and the anticipation of Friday's inflation data, gold fell. August-dated gold dropped 0.4%, to settle near $2,335.80 an ounce.
